Online Safety

At Nields we are fully committed to keeping our staff and pupils safe when online and acknowledge this as a major part in school safeguarding procedures. As a community we value the opportunities provided by the internet and other technologies that are used in everyday life but at the same time we educate our children about the risks and highlight the steps we need to take to avoid them both in and out of school. Our Online Safety Lead is Mr J Toon, who works in close partnership with the Leadership team. As staff we have worked hard to ensure that online safety awareness is taught during assembly times and as part of our computing curriculum in classes. Our expectations for responsible and appropriate conduct are set out in our Acceptable Use Policies (AUP) which we expect all staff and pupils to follow. All children have taken one of these home to read with parents. Without parental signatures, children are not allowed to use the internet unattended.

If you have any concerns and it is important to us here at Nields that you alert us to such, that you come in to speak to Mr Toon or a member of staff with regard to any online issues so that they can be dealt with promptly.
