Curriculum Overview
The Intent of Nields Curriculum Offer
The curriculum we offer at Nields Academy enables every child, no matter where they are starting from, to receive a breadth of rich and well-balanced experiences to develop resilience, independence and respect.
We aim to build on knowledge and skills progressively, to nurture a love of learning and enable children to transition onto the next phase of their journey and ultimately grow into well-rounded citizens.
Implementation
We follow the National Curriculum (2014) in Key Stage 1 and 2 and the revised Early Years Framework (2021). This is enhanced through the Chris Quigley Essentials Document (2019) where subjects are effectively sequenced to sustain pupil progress and develop a wider and deeper subject knowledge. It allows time to reflect, consolidate and transfer their learning across subjects. Woven into these subjects are the important underlying principles of spirituality, morality, cultural and social aspects of life.
A curriculum newsletter is provided each term and can be found on our class pages. If you have any further questions about the curriculum content, please speak to your child's class teacher.
