Meet our Governors

Madeleine Maddock

Madeleine Maddock (Chair)

As a parent to two boys attending Nields I’m passionate about the children in our community having as many opportunities as possible. I come from a background in Academic Publishing/Design and have an active interest in how children learn and grow. I believe that primary school can lay the foundation that provides our children with resilience, excitement and a confidence that will carry them forward in later life.

Serving as a Governor (since 2020) has meant learning on my feet and understanding our school and community from different angles. I’m incredibly proud of our staff, who work hard creating a wonderful environment for our children. Looking to the future, I’m assured by our vision and excited by our talent, knowing that our school is ambitious and dedicated to our children and community.

I joined Nields in January 2020 taking on the role of Assistant Headteacher which was the next step in my career. Having previously taught in a large 3 form entry school, I was drawn to Nields due to its close knit community feel and I instantly knew that the Nields' team was one I wanted to be a part of. Both staff and Governors work tremendously hard to ensure the best possible outcomes for all and the children are always at the heart of every decision made. I have previously taught across Years 2 - 6, led Key Stage 2 and have been lead for various subjects and areas such as Pupil Premium, Mathematics, Safeguarding and Attendance. My role as part of the Govening Body is to ensure that the school continues to be driven forward and provide the best possible education.

As a father of two, with both children attending Nields, I was keen to take the opportunity to serve on the Board of Govenors where I was elected in 2021. From a professional perspective I am a data driven Head of Digital with a background in business improvement, project management, facilitation and strategy. I lead a team of 4 and am passionate about aiding in their personal and professional development. Alongside this I facilitate and lead on various future leader and graduate development programs.

My aim through my time as a Nields Govenor is to bring a data driven approach to the team whilst also utilising my growing finance skill set to help guide the school's strategy.
